An unusual combination of locomotives brings a train from Sheffield into Nottingham Victoria Station on 12 October 1962

A view northward from the north end of the station with the 11.08 stopping train from Sheffield Victoria emerging from Mansfield Road Tunnel, headed by LNER Thompson Class L1 2-6-4T No. 67749 piloting LMS Stanier Class Black 5 4-6-0 No. 44690.

67749 was withdrawn from 38A Colwick Shed shed in December 1962 and cut up at Darlington Works in February 1963

44690 was withdrawn from Newton Heath shed in June 1969 and cut up by Drapers, Neptune Street Goods Yard, Hull in January 1969.

Withdrawn LNER/BR Thompson Class L1 2-6-4 tank No. 67755 stands in the yard at Darlington North Road Works on Sunday 21st July 1963. It was withdrawn from 37A Ardsley shed in December 1962 and cut up at Darlington Works, North Road scrapyard in September 1963.

The remains of Gresley J39/2 0-6-0 No. 64917 can also be seen in the photo. It was withdrawn from 52D Tweedmouth shed in December 1962 and finally cut up at Darlington Works, North Road soon after this photo was taken.
