A line of stored BR Standard Class 2 2-6-0 at Darlington Shed 51A on 21st July 1963, including 78011, 78012, 78024 and 78025. Surprisingly, most were not officially withdrawn until two years later. Normally, they would have been cut up at Darlington Works, North Road scrapyard. However, the works was due to close in 1966 and the rundown of scrapping there slowed down in 1965 and they were sold and scrapped by private contactors.
