Introduced 1924. Post-Grouping development of Fowler Midland design with reduced boiler mountings.
(a) Introduced 1922. Built for SDJR to Midland design. Taken into LMS stock in 1930. Former SDJR Nos. were 57-61 in same order.
(b) Temporarily converted to oil burning in 1947, then reconverted back.
