Class Information

Introduced 1920. Urie LSWR design, development of Class N15 for mixed traffic work.
(a) Introduced 1927. Maunsell development of Urie design with higher boiler pressure, reduced cylinder diameter, smaller grate, modified cab and other detail alterations.
(b) Introduced 1927. Fitted with six wheel tenders for Central Section.
(c) Introduced 1936. Locos with further detail differences, reduced weight and modified tender design.
