Introduction

Welcome to the members area of the Rail UK web site

The members area is basically an on-line copy of the original PC TOPS database system which ran on users home PCs. This on-line version has many advantages over the PC based system. All existing funcionality of the PC system has been retained, but with many enhancements:

  • All data is always up-to-date, no need to continually purchase update disks or manually update your PC TOPS database
  • After doing a depot search, clicking on a search link will display details for that depot along with its current allocation
  • Many railway Images have now been included - locos, depots, statione, etc. These can be viewed via the Photo Gallery. Images are also viewable on each "detail" page. For example, if you search for class 37 locos and click on (say) 37025 on the search results page any images for this loco will be displayed underneath the loco details.
  • Extensive reports can be produced for downloading onto your own PC - reports are available in Excel (csv) format or Text and can be ordered by number, depot, etc.
  • Mapping is now included. You can view a depot map location, amongst others, using the new Google maps/satellite photos. Example Old Oak Common Depot
