LNER Class Worsdell W North Eastern Railway T1 4-8-0 Tank

Built 1909-25. Designed by Wilson Worsdell.

Total Number Built 15 - Total to BR 13.

Introduced 1909. Wilson Worsdell North Eastern Railway (NER) design for heavy shunting duties.

(a) 69914 Rebuilt with superheater.

Ten engines were built in 1909 and a further five in 1925.

Number Series 69910-69922.

Built at the North Eastern Railway Darlington Works.

No Lot Nos. yet available.

Two of the original 1909 batch were withdrawn in 1937, but the remainder were all still in service until 1955, two more being withdrawn in that year.

The first loco withdrawn was ??? on ??? from ??? shed.
The last loco withdrawn was 69921 on ??? 1961 from ??? shed.

None are preserved.
