Built 1932. Designed by Nigel Gresley.

S1/3 Introduced 1932. New London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) locomotives built by Nigel Gresley based on Robinson Great Central Railway (GCR) Class S1/1 design. Superheated locomotives with booster fitted trailing bogie - booster later removed in 1943.
