The three locos were the survivors of a set of nine 0-6-0 Tanks acqured by the LNER from the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway in 1937.
Some were built new at Melton Constable between 1897 and 1905, while others were partly rebuilds of Cornwall Mineral Railway engines built 1873-1874.
None of the three locos survived long enough to carry their BR allocated numbers.
The first loco withdrawn was 68488 on 13 January 1948 from South Lynn shed.
The last loco withdrawn was 68489 on ??? 1949 from ??? shed.
None are preserved.
