LNER Class Worsell W North Eastern Railway G5 0-4-4 Tank

Built 1894-1901. Designed by Wilson Worsell.

Total Number Built 110 - Total to BR 110.

Introduced 1894. W Worsell North Eastern Railway (NER) Class O design.

(a) 67250/53/61/69/77/79-82/84/86/97/305/11/22/23/37/39 fitted with push-pull control apparatus (67277 & 67284 fitted by BR).

(b) 67340 as (a) and rebuilt in 1938 with larger tanks.

Coal capacity was increased by the fitting of a wire cage to the top of the bunker, on top of which about 31 locomotives were fitted with a sheet iron hopper for use at mechanical coaling plants.

Number Series 67240-67349.

Built at the North Eastern Railway Darlington Works.

No Lot Nos. yet available.

The first loco withdrawn was 67306 on 26 June 1948 from West Auckland shed.
The last loco withdrawn was ??? in 1958 from ??? shed.

None are preserved.
