LNER Class Robinson Great Central Railway J10/6 0-6-0

Built 1901-02. Designed by Robinson.

Total Number Built ? - Total to BR 36.

A total of 124 J10 engines were built of which 78 were taken into BR stock.

Introduced 1901. Robinson Great Central Railway development of J10/2 with larger bearings and 3,080 gallon tender. 65170/3/85/7 fitted with larger tender and classified J10/4 by BR.

Number Series 65126-65209 (with gaps - see Locomotive Numbers below).

J10/4 - 65131-65132. 65134-65138, 65140-65157, 65160-65162, 65164-65169, 65171, 65175, 65178-65179, 65184, 65186.

In December 1956, eight Class J10 engines were transferred to Darlington shed. Travelling via Carnforth, Tebay and Kirkby Stephen, they were exchanged for eight LMS Fowler 2-6-2 tanks that the North Eastern Region had acquired and wanted to be rid of. On receipt of the J10s, Darlington withdrew the lot.

The first loco withdrawn was 65195 on 3 February 1948 from Brunswick shed.
The last loco withdrawn was ??? on ?? from ?? shed.

None are preserved.
