Then allocated to Laira LA TMD in the MDRL distribution pool, 37671 hauls through a down railfreight.

Built at EE Vulcan Foundry in October 1964, this loco went new to Cardiff Canton depot. It was involved in a shunting accident with 37670 at Tavistock Junction in Nov 1987 and spent almost a year in Crewe Works under repair; then under EWS it went to work in France from Aug 1999 for 14 months. After 43 years service it was withdrawn by EWS and stored in July 2007, later being scrapped at EMR Attercliffe in Feb 2011.

The second loco to be named "Tre Pol and Pen", this happened on 31 Aug 1987 at Laira MPD without ceremony. The name was carried as part of the GW150 celebrations and BR's connections with Cornwall - Tre, Pol and Pen being Cornish name prefixes.
