EE Type 3 Class 37/0 37189 (D6889, 37672) at Bristol TM on 26 Nov1984

37189 departs heading an up CCE Track Testing coach.

Built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn, Darlington works in January 1964, this loco went new to Cardiff Canton depot. It remained a WR engine throughout its working life until sent by EWS to work in France from June 1999 for 15 months.

Upon its return it was stored, then withdrawn in Aug 2006 and passed to Harry Needle, from where it went, still wearing its Transrail livery, to be withdrawn in Oct 2010 and cut up in Dec 2010 at TJ Thompson, Stockton - not too far from where it was built 46 years earlier.
