SR/BR Merchant Navy Class  No. 35010 at Waterloo Station 1952

A group of trainspotters watch the driver of SR/BR Class Merchant Navy No. 35010 Blue Star inspecting the boiler door at Waterloo Station in August 1952. Most of the spotters are wearing contrasting examples of classic spotters' garb of blazers, short trousers, long socks, short-sleeve shirts, gaberdine raincoat or the full school uniform, while one boy wears long trousers and a peaked cap. The loco was modified in January 1957 and withdrawn in Septermber 1966.
