LMS/BR Stanier Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 45694 'Bellerophon' at Carlisle Citadel Station on 10th July 1965. Built at Crewe Works, it entered traffic on 23th March 1936. It was withdrawn from Wakefield shed in December 1966 and cut up by Drapers, Neptune Street Goods Yard, Hull in June 1967.

A gaggle of trainspotter wearing a variety of clothing watch it depart north light engine from platform 3 having uncoupled from the train.

During the year beginning November 1965, I saw this engine two or three times dead on Wakefield shed (56A). On each occasion its shining-clean appearance was a pleasant surprise.
