This loco was originally built 1962 by BRCW as D5394, being converted in Glasgow works during early 1970s fitted with dual brakes and push/pull working equipment in the 27/1 sub-class. It was restored along with others of its Class to normal working condition in November 1982 as 27050. Withdrawn in July 1987, on 23 December 1987 it passed into preservation as an early Christmas present for the Strathspey Railway!

Here 27106 pilots a failed 47403 on a much delayed Aberdeen - Glasgow service at Perth General.

Haymarket HA allocated 27204 stands light engine at Perth General, awaiting a path running South. You can see this loco has the later vertical drop cab side window and still carries the eth jumper cables (on cab front above the nearside buffer) from its days as a push/pull loco on the Glasgow - Edinburgh shuttles.

This loco was originally delivered from BRCW in July 1962 as D5403, being converted to 27122 in the 1970s. In 1975, Glasgow works converted it to the 27/2 sub-class, fitting it with eth for top & tail duties on the accelerated 90mph Edinburgh - Glasgow shuttles. Along with others of its class, it was restored to normal working as 27058, eventually being scrapped in August 1987 at Vic Berry, Leicester.
