| As the classic bike scene grew and classic shows began to appear, we decided to advertise the club by putting on displays at events. For instance we have had a stand at Bristol Classic Bike Show at Shepton Mallett since it started. We try to display a variety of classic bikes to show all disciplines within the club and to show that we are not just polishers but ride and compete on them as well. Over the years we have a variety of rosettes awarded to bikes on our stand including the Best Competition Trophy winning bike at Bristol classic Motorcycle Show. This was Dave Bells’ lovely Jawa Metisse, which he campaigns regularly at Red Marley hill climb and a variety of scrambles throughout the season. We also have displays at a number of other shows both large and small, including the Calne Bike Day, Bristol Bike Event, various village shows and fetes etc., all in support of local communities. We had a very pleasant relaxing sunny day in our usual shady spot talking and looking at bikes, swilling tea, eating, talking some more and looking at more bikes... Followed at the end of the day by a mass ride out to Bowood for a photo shoot. |
