Road Runs

Road Runs Secretary Sarah Fogden

After the club was established in 1987 it was a natural progression to incorporate a Road Runs side. This started with an annual organised run 'The Roman Run', but with subsequent years the Road Runs section grew stronger with more runs added to the calendar and even the occaisonal weekend event.

The Road Runs section is very sociable and although we prefer it if you ride a classic of some description we will still speak to you if you don't! Some members prefer classic British bikes, whilst others ride older Italian, German or Japanese bikes. We don't mind as long as you appreciate classic machinery and understand that modern and classic machines have different needs and characteristics when being ridden together on a Road Run.

Sarah is our Roads Secretary/Co-ordinator and has a keen Roads sub committee who organise runs to suit all bikes and riders

Any queries on Road Runs contact Sarah Fogden 01761 432611.

Venue : Bustard Club Bythesea Rd Trowbridge BA14 8HR, 10:00

Well a select band of 23 riders on a variety of machinery of all shapes and sizes (that's bikes and riders)enjoyed a lovely ramble around an interesting array of back roads and lanes, down to south Wiltshire to partake of lunch at Farmer Giles at Teffont.

After lunch a similar circuitious route brought everyone back to the Bustard Club for a refreshing glass of friut juice (are hops fruit?) or a cuppa.

My thanks to everyone who helped marshall the run and to Don who thoroughly enjoyed himself collecting in the arrows!

Looks like the Bustard Club has a reprieve so we may well be back again next year!
